Flamin' Hot is the apocryphally truish story of Richard Montañez, the man who went from being a janitor to an executive at Frito Lay. In the film, Richard has a real thirst for knowledge and one of the engineers teaches Richard everything he knows about making chips and operating the machinery. The story goes that Montanez disrupted the chip market by observing the huge market for spicy goods especially in the Latino community, and that he pushed until he invented Flamin' Hot Cheetos and caused a literal sensation.

The only problem is... it's not true. He did indeed go from janitor to executive, but unfortunately, Frito Lay shows no evidence whatsoever that he was involved in the development of the hot Cheeto flavor.  But Hollywood loves a good story and frankly, it's a really fun film.  It streams on Hulu and on Disney+, and it's a great Saturday night at home movie.

But the nomination is for my beloved and talented song writer, Diane Warren, who with this film sees her 15th song nomination with sadly, no wins.  She has written some doozies, look it up!  And here's is yet another terrific song. Though her streak will surely continue this year, it's still always nice to get one of her tunes in the top 5.
