Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

Best Animated Feature Film - Richard PhelanWill BecherPaul Kewley

This Shaun the Sheep sequel is the second of the two Shaun the Sheep films to be nominated for an Oscar for Animated Feature.  If you liked the first one, you'll like the second one.  It's a fun movie because the characters are adorable with plenty of fun animal shenanigans to make you laugh.  In this one, Shaun has discovered an alien child landed on earth trying to find its way home (yep, it's Shaun the Sheep meets E.T.) back to its parents.  But it won't be easy with Agent Red of the Ministry of Alien Detection (MAD) on their tails, trying to prove that the aliens he had seen as a child exist.  We can't forget about the animals' nemeses, Farmer John and his dog Bingo who have decided to set up a theme park to make enough money to replace some very expensive farm equipment that was broken by the small alien when she attempted to make crop circles in the farmer's field.

As in the prior Shaun the Sheep movie, there really isn't any dialogue so we rely on the incredible cuteness of all of the characters to tell the story.  While it's not the most original storyline, it's still a pretty cute one to watch.  Unlike most of the body of work that the producers make (notably the Wallace and Grommet films), this is a movie that you'll probably want to watch with kids, or if you're obsessed with seeing every Oscars nominated film.  If not, I'm not sure this one is for you.  I liked it and I find these films funny and adorable.

One small step for lamb, one giant leap for lambkind.  PS stay to the very end to catch all of the end scenes!
